Nokia 8500 Xpress Music

Nokia entered the market of touch screen smart phone with its first touch screen mobile phone Nokia 8500 Xpress music. Though Nokia 7710 was also launched in 2003 with a huge display and extensive multimedia features but did not succeed in appealing a wide range of users due to its awkward way of handling and calling. Nokia 5800 XpressMusic offers a sharp touch screen and compact design.

Nokia 8500 has been launched with aim to compete with all touch screen phones already present in the market. Its genuine music system with a loud speaker at the back offers an amazing feeling in sharing music with friends. A 3.2 mega pixel camera can take great pictures in three resolutions. It also tells its user how many pictures he can take with a maximum size for each resolution. The 5800 offers a full HTML Web browser with a pretty straightforward interface but you can’t enjoy it unless you know exactly where to place your finger.

About 4.37 inches tall and 2.04 inches wide Nokia 8500 shares many design features with iPhone and Samsung touch-screen handsets. Its 3.2 inches touch screen made it as large as iPhone. With an excellent and robust display solution, it can support about 16 million colors with an aspect ration of 16:9. Such screen resolution produces bright, sharp shiny graphics. Whether you are in standing darkness or in a bright day light, its brightness, font size and backlight can be changed to adjust to your mood and environment.

Its full QWERTY keyboard offers several interesting ways to type a message. Though the space for typing a message is not spacious enough but with a separate keyboard for numbers and symbols, dedicated shift keys, large space bar and scrolling options can makes composing message easy. But if you are not feeling comfortable with this style of messaging, you can also enjoy the facility of standard alphanumeric keypad given there.

Everything is there but still there is a room for improvement if Nokia really wants to make a stable position in market in competition with other touch screen smart phone of other brands
