MANAGING DEVICES AND SERVICES
In the case of Windows NT,
the authorization mechanism is based on the previous dialup permission grant
to the user option. This is located in the user management option or present
in the remote access utility. But in case of Windows 2000 the grant of
authorization is totally dialup based.
Now managing a remote
network gives network administrators the flexibility of authorization of the
connection attempts. Now there are two access types which helps in managing
a remote network. They are:
Access by User Account
Access by Policy
Now in case of access by user account the main access
is granted on the basis of the accounts of the users. The user login
information is used to authenticate it for accessing the remote data or
drive
Now in case the access is granted on the basis of
policy. A policy is derived that which users are allowed to access the
system remotely.
In short the network can be accessed and managed
remotely by sitting on a single machine and the resources of all the other
machines can be utilized from there. |
